House candidate Erickson comments on IRGC decision

The following is provided by Iowa House candidate Hans Erickson:

The community voted an unprecedented 75 percent in favor for the referendum of the new $40 million casino and the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission voted 3-2 to grant the license.

The casino is projected to hire 275 employees and add $7 million annually to the local economy through payroll and benefits. Wild Rose has also stated that it will give 5 percent of its adjusted gross revenue (estimated 1.5 million annually) to Grow Greene County for nonprofit groups and civic projects.

According to Iowa House Candidate Hans Erickson: “This is going to be a huge economic boost for Greene County. People are going to get quality jobs allowing them to save more and spend money in the community. Through the giving back program proposed by Wild Rose, community groups will have an influx of funds as well. I am very excited to see all the positive out comes from this decision.”

According to Wild Rose Entertainment, the official groundbreaking will be in 30 days with construction lasting 13 months.

Hans Erickson is a Boone native and running for the Iowa House of Representatives in House District 47 (Boone and Greene County).
