JPD tells results of May 19-June 1 enforcement project

The Jefferson police department conducted a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) May 19-June 1. During that time the JPD arrested two drivers for operating while intoxicated, made one felony arrest, investigated one accident and assisted two motorists.

JPD officers wrote 10 citations as follows: speed, two; driving while license suspended or revoked, one; registration violations, two; failure to have proof of insurance, four; and other traffic violations, one.

Officers issued a total of 126 warnings as follows: seat belt usage, 32; speed, 23; registration violations, 14; equipment violations, 27; failure to have proof of insurance, 12; other traffic violations, 13; driving without a license, one; failure to use a child restraint, one; and excessive window tint, three.
