Parent Academy slated for next Monday at GCHS

Parent AcademyParents of students of all ages and members of the community are encouraged to attend a free Parent Academy next Monday, April 28, during parent-teacher conferences at the school.

Parents can learn about risky behaviors, substance abuse in the Greene County community, and bullying in three sessions that will be presented three times each – 5:30, 6, and 6:30 pm. Parents can plan their own schedule. Sessions will be held in the school auditorium, the library, and the Ram Restaurant.

Local agencies will offer information at an Information Fair from 5 to 7 pm.

The Parent Academy is funded by a mini grant from Communities 4 Children and Community Partnership for Protecting Children neighborhood/community Network. A healthy snack will be served and door prizes will be offered.

“We encourage parents of all ages of children and community members to join us for these informational sessions,” said Emily Gannon, Safe and Supportive School coordinator for Greene County schools. For more information, contact Gannon at 515-386-2188 or email her at gannone@greenecountycsd.net
