Greene County district court, week ending Dec. 20

In Greene County district court Nastassia Chanel Goff, 28, of Grand Junction was sentenced Dec. 20 on a charge of unlawful use of a credit card-aggravated. She was sentenced to two years in prison; the prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for two years. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. She is jointly and severally liable with co-defendant Christopher Quirk for $2,367.83 restitution to Sears and $3,498.49 restitution to Chase. She must also pay $228.68 court costs and restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees in an amount not yet determined. Goff was granted a deferred judgment on a charge of possession of marijuana. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Dominque Erick Lee, 24, of Jefferson was sentenced Dec. 16 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with intent to commit sex abuse, amended from sex abuse-third degree. He was sentenced to five years in prison, to be served concurrent to the sentence in a prior case in which his parole was revoked. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Lee must pay $455.19 court costs and restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees in an amount not yet specified. (Sentencing: Honorable William C. Ostlund)

Joseph Virgil Peterson, 30, of Jefferson was sentenced Dec. 20 after changing his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail with a $48 per day sheriff’s fee. He may complete an OWI Weekend Offender program at his own expense in lieu of the jail time. He was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Kester)

Christopher Michael Higgins, 30, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment Dec. 20 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of forgery- aggravated misdemeanor, amended from forgery- class D felony. He was placed on probation for two years. He must pay a $625 civil penalty and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must pay $430.50 restitution to Tri-County Lumber and $181 court costs. Steven Edward Hopkins, 39, of Perry pleaded not guilty at arraignment Dec. 17 to a charge of domestic abuse assault-aggravated. A trial date was set for Feb. 14.

A case was initiated Dec. 16 against Corey Michael Renfer, 21, of Carroll on a charge of giving false report to law enforcement.
